Artist's Statement
Photography means writing with light; the camera is my pen. "Writing" about experiences through images, we share with friends, mainly in digital form. This is great for expanding the reach of our message, our visual storytelling. But the large format expressive print remains the ultimate form of a photographic image. The physical nature of it, the vast amount of detail, the ability to view it from close and afar, focusing on a small element then taking in the whole, provides a powerful form of artistic expression.
Living near the ocean, my focus is mainly on capturing images of serene coastal scenes and natural objects selected for their unusual texture, color and detail; subjects that bring the beauty of nature by the sea and garden into your home. I have selected images from my volumes of writing to share with you in print form. If a low resolution digital image from the Gallery strikes a resonant chord, consider purchase of a high resolution, archival quality, fine art print. It will provide a symphony that warms your soul.
As a visual storyteller, my writing instruments include Nikon digital camera bodies, Nikon and Sigma lenses and Epson Stylus Pro large format printers using K3 Ultrachrome archival inks and fine art papers. All prints are custom printed to order by me, with limited edition prints signed and numbered.
